September 17

Join us for Planet Blue Hullabaloo at the Sea Lion Center in celebration of the world’s largest volunteer effort, known as Coastal Cleanup Day. We will be celebrating ways to protect our beloved boisterous sea lions and their environment! Sea Lion Anniversary
January 2017

Celebrate the anniversary of the California sea lions first coming to PIER 39 in 1989. Join in on special walking tours, presentations with our professional sea lion Naturalists, and all kinds of other special sea lion activities.

The average life span of a California Sea Lion is 20–25 years.
Sea Lions are considered “opportunistic feeders,” eating available prey rather than one species.
